| Bag of the day: Chanel small classic flap in blue caviar (2023) |
Hi there and welcome to my blog! Summer is in full swing here in Sydney and weekends are currently filled with pre-Christmas catch ups before everyone goes on vacation. My friend R suggested that we meet up at one of her all time favourite cafes in Redfern at
Cafe Oratnek. The menu is full of interesting Japanese-Western fusion brunch and lunch dishes. We got a bit eggy with it last weekend and tried out the Ebi (prawn) Omurice (omelette rice) and Tamagoyaki (egg roll) on toast. Both were delicious as was the coffee. I was eyeing up their matcha lamington and all sorts of green cakes during brunch but alas was too full to order anything so will definitely have to return soon with The Boy for a matcha fest.
The cafe had a lovely ambience, both indoors and the outdoor courtyard area (though not too much shade from the sun). The cafe is located at 4 Pitt Strett, Redfern (not to be confused by Pitt Street in the Sydney CBD area). There is free 1 to 2 hour street parking available. Cafe hours: open from 7am Mon to Fridays, and from 8am on Saturday and Sunday. Closes at 3:30pm, except for Mondays closes at 1:30pm.
Are you a fan of fusion brunch? If you have any other cafe recommendations, feel free to leave a comment down below or DM me on Instagram
